Description
This program is designed to teach kids ages 11 - 14 years old the fundamentals of basketball. The kids will learn the basic motor skills necessary to play basketball in the future. Skills learned will focus on how to dribble, pass and shoot a basketball properly. The class will be organized to give each player a chance to participate and learn while having fun and growing a love for the sport of basketball.

Specifically, Recreation offers an array of activities that encompass but are not limited to ice skating, aerobics, swimming, and gymnastics as well as more conventional activities such as track, basketball, baseball, and football. The Department offers after-school programs at the Jersey City YMCA and Armory and various public schools throughout the city.
